MOE Museum Heroes Web Quiz

ROLE Lead Motion Designer PROJECT TYPE Web app TEAM Creative Director Producer Visual Designer Web Developer SOFTWARE Adobe After Effects Lottie Export Plugin Museum Heroes was an interactive educational web experience for the Singapore Ministry of Education, designed to teach children about museum roles through animated storytelling and quizzes. The goal was to make learning engaging and approachable, while reducing the pressure and anxiety often associated with quizzes. As Lead Motion Designer, I led the design of motion-driven interactions across the experience, from narrative sequences to quiz mechanics. I collaborated closely with a visual designer and developer to create and implement animations in After Effects, optimizing them as Lottie files for smooth web performance. The motion system was designed to support storytelling while remaining lightweight and responsive. To improve retention and engagement, we designed the experience to feel exploratory rather than evaluative. Users could revisit content at their own pace, while feedback systems were made accessible beyond color cues through motion and interaction design. We also shifted the tone of feedback to be more encouraging, replacing negative language with affirming responses and framing all outcomes positively, helping children stay motivated and confident throughout the experience.
